At 14, Samuel Bomate Amakiri attended a free technology bootcamp. At the time, it may have seemed like just another opportunity for a young boy to learn something new. But that experience would ultimately change the trajectory of his life.
Years later, Samuel has built a career as a software engineer, working on products across Africa and internationally, including Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States and contributing to the growth of Africa’s technology ecosystem.
Today, he is also recreating the opportunity that first introduced him to technology by making technology education accessible to young people through free bootcamps and training programmes. For Samuel, the journey into technology was not simply about learning how to write code. It was about discovering what was possible. A free opportunity that changed everything.
