Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Lesley Vogel, the mother of late Heroes star Hayden Panettiere, says her daughter's death still "doesn't feel real."
Vogel, 70, discussed Panettiere and the actress' relationship with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Brian Hickerson in an interview Monday on Good Morning America.
Panettiere, who started acting as a child and later starred in Nashville, Ice Princess and Scream 4, died Aug. 16 at age 36. The actress had described her struggles with addiction, postpartum depression and her fraught relationship with Vogel in her memoir This is Me, released in May.
In the GMA interview, Vogel addressed her "haters" and said critics "don't have a right to tell me how I mourn the loss of my second child" following the death of Panettiere's brother, Jansen, at age 28 in 2023.
