LIV Golf concluded its roller coaster 2026 season Sunday with no clarity regarding if or when the league will return for a sixth year in 2027.
“I have great thoughts about what could happen next year—I wish I could be more upfront about it,” Bryson DeChambeau said after the final round of LIV Golf Indianapolis. “But ultimately I’m proud of the fact of what we’ve done, the good and some of the bad that we’ve unfortunately had, things that have occurred. I’m going to be real with it; not everything was perfect. But for the most part we’ve done a solid job.”
DeChambeau’s five-season contract with LIV expired Sunday, but the league’s biggest star has been heavily involved in helping shape LIV’s future. The Saudi PIF has ended its funding of LIV after spending roughly $6 billion on the golf circuit since launching it in 2022. LIV is in talks with London-based BC Partners Credit about a new funding deal, but nothing has been finalized yet. “I think there’s something fun coming,” DeChambeau teased at the end of his TV interview Sunday evening.
The 2026 season concluded in Indianapolis due to the cancellation of the LIV Golf Michigan event, which was set to host a $40 million team championship this week in suburban Detroit. Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII won the re-tooled team championship competition in Indianapolis, earning $8.4 million for the team. Rahm had previously clinched the season-long individual championship that came with a $6 million bonus.
