The film's title is a military acronym used by Israeli intelligence to indicate the expected civilian death toll from a planned air strike.
The documentary draws on investigations alleging Israel used an AI system, Lavender, to generate a list of 37,000 potential targets in Gaza.
Zone of Interest producer James Wilson and director Jonathan Glazer serve as producer and executive producer respectively on the new film.
