Tesla is recalling nearly three million electric vehicles in China over safety concerns involving emergency door handles and a separate defect affecting driver-attention monitoring during assisted driving.
The recall affects about 2.98 million China-made Tesla vehicles and is part of a wider campaign involving more than 4.27 million vehicles across nine automakers.
Affected Tesla models include the Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X. Other manufacturers involved in the recalls include Chinese electric vehicle makers XPeng, Xiaomi and Geely, according to the BBC.
The door-handle recall centres on emergency mechanical releases that can be difficult to identify because their colour is similar to the surrounding interior trim.
