NewsUK NewsCrimestoppersPolice are hunting for a man aged in his 30s or 40s after a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a stranger in woodland in Southampton during a horrific broad-daylight attack09:52, 24 Aug 2026Cops have launched a manhunt after a teenage girl was allegedly raped by a stranger in woodland during a horrifying daylight attack.‌Police are appealing for help from the public after the 14-year-old girl was allegedly attacked in Southampton on Sunday afternoon.‌A man aged in his 30s or 40s is being sought by police following the alleged incident, thought to have taken place in an area of trees off the Wide Lane roundabout near Mansbridge Road in Swaythling.‌Detective Superintendent Ross Toms said: “This incident was understandably very distressing for the girl involved.“Our specialist officers are supporting her while we have significant resources in the area thoroughly investigating this incident as a priority.”Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary are now looking to speak with anyone who may have been in the area between 2pm and 3.10pm.‌The suspect has been described as being tall, skinny, having pale or sandy skin and aged in his 30s or 40s.His hair is described as blonde, greasy and curtain style which was slicked back.
