President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the constitution of the 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, with Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle, appointed Deputy Director, Security and Intelligence 1.
The council comprises political leaders, strategists and grassroots mobilisers tasked with coordinating the APC’s engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Defence, Matawalle’s appointment places him at the centre of the campaign’s security and intelligence structure, with responsibility for coordinating security arrangements for campaign activities nationwide.
