President Lee Jae Myung's approval rating fell to a new low of 40.2 percent, marking a sixth straight weekly decline, a poll showed Monday. The Realmeter survey of 2,026 voters was conducted from Tuesday to Friday and found 56.9 percent gave him a negative assessment. Realmeter cited distrust over housing policy, controversy over Yongsan Park apartments, clashes over Supreme Court justice nominations, and security concerns after scaled-back Korea-US military drills.

President Lee Jae Myung's approval rating has slipped to a new low of 40.2 percent, also marking the sixth consecutive week of decline, a poll showed Monday.
In the poll conducted on 2,026 voters from Tuesday to Friday by Realmeter and commissioned by the EKN newspaper, Lee's approval rating fell 2.8 percentage points from the previous week.
Of the respondents, 56.9 percent gave a negative assessment of Lee's job performance, up 2.8 percentage points from the previous week.
