NEW YORK, August 24. /TASS/. The US Navy is developing an ultra-long-range air-to-air missile AIM-424 LRAAM-Malice with a range exceeding 460 km, according to a press release posted on the Navy’s website.

The US stated that the AIM-424 is intended "to strengthen fleet defense and maintain a decisive air-domain overmatch against advanced threats." The missile is designed for fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-generation aviation platforms.

The AIM-424 is equipped with a solid-fuel motor. It is approximately 4 meters long and weighs over 680 kg.
