Madras Day, celebrated on August 22 every year, brought with it a host of celebrations over the weekend. On Sunday, the Murugappa Group conducted the annual ‘The Madras Quiz’ contest which was themed “Manasellaam Madras, Vibe-ellaam Chennai” at Victoria Public Hall.This year’s contest included the Madras Quiz for Schools for students of classes X, XI, XII, and The Madras Quiz (Open) which was free for participants of all age groups. Both were hosted by quizmaster Sumanth C. Raman.K.L. Dheeraj and Ramesh Krishna S. from PSBB, K.K. Nagar emerged winners of the Madras Quiz for Schools 2026. Dev Naveen and Aakush A. Dhanujnath from B.V. Bhavan’s Rajaji Vidyashram, Kilpauk were the first runners-up and S. Lokeshwar and Sanjeev S. from The Grove School, Teynampet were second runners-up.In the Madras Open Quiz contest, Jayakanthan R. and Kartik Ramadas emerged as winners. K. Palani and A. Santhanan were first runners-up and Srinivasa Ramanujam and Deepa Alexander finished as second runners-up. A total of 166 teams comprising two participants each, took part in the events.
