JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars wrapped up their final weekend practice of training camp on Sunday, and we are close to the real thing in Week 1. But Day 17 of training camp proved that, above all, camp is going to march on for at least a little longer. So, what were the highs and lows of Sunday's practice at the Miller Electric Center? We review below with The Good and The Not So Good. Outside of a few third/fourth-team offensive linemen and Patrick Mekari, the Jaguars had the entire slate of top offensive line combinations at least on the field Sunday. The unit has dealt with a plethora of injuries since training camp started, but the reinforcements have seemingly officially arrived. Both Wyatt Milum and Chuma Edoga were back at practice after missing earlier in the week, while Cole Van Lanen also went through individual drills for the first time in camp. New guard Daniel Faalele is already running with the second-team offensive line as well. They will not be in pads until Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the starters have been off since Wednesday, but Sunday's practice was still a lively and fiesty one. There was a ton of jawing back and forth between the offense and defense, and it was clear that this was not going to another low-level energy day like the one the Jaguars went through earlier in the week as injuries stacked up. “Yeah, especially for the joint with Tampa and just getting those guys a ton of reps and trying to maximize these ops [opportunities], because we won't be in pads again until game week, after this week," Coen said after practice. "And so, that's the reality of just how things fall and where we're at, and we ended up having one more padded day than last year's training camp. So, you got to maximize these ops, and the continued continuity and chemistry is so important that every single time we step out here, there has to be real intentionality and not just, ‘Okay, this is another training camp practice.’ Like, that isn’t it anymore, guys. We're building towards something, we're sharpening our edge towards something, and I thought, [RB] Chris Rodriguez [Jr.] today, he practiced that way. He has had an all-around impressive training camp, and then he took it up a notch on Sunday with an incredibly athletic play to intercept Trevor Lawrence on a screen and return it the other way for a touchdown. This was not a doofus Will Levis-like play where Lawrence just threw it blindly to the defender; Dickerson went up in the air and plucked the ball before stiff-arming the running backright after the catch. Coen was asked about Dickerson after practice and he went on to wax poetic about the Jaguars' veteran backup. For any doubts about his place on the roster moving forward, just take a look at what Coen had to say. “He’s a, I don't want to say a rock, but he is so consistent with the way that he comes out and hits blocks. The way that he strikes blocks, the way that he can play firm at the point of attack. His hands are so heavy," Coens said. "When you just shake his hand, you just grab his hand. He's so dense and thick, and he's violent when he can be able to get to his hands in extension and shed. He's a strong dude and his journey is so impressive. It's such a great learning op for so many young players that not everybody's a one-through-five draft pick, and life's easy and their career's easy and they make it. Like, he had to work really hard to finally, truly make it. And so, I'm glad that it's with us. I'm glad that he's able to call this place home for now, and he's making a huge impact for our team.”
