To celebrate the city’s spirit, culture and active lifestyle, The Hindu Made of Chennai Run was flagged off at the Island Grounds on Sunday.In the three categories — 10-km and 5-km runs and 1 km sari walk — there were a total of over 5,800 registrations. The 10-km and 5-km runs were flagged off in the presence of Vasudevan Baskaran, former Indian hockey captain, Nethra Kumanan, Olympian, V.P. Jeyaseelan, director of Tourism and Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC), Anand Ekambaram, vice-president, marketing, Casagrand, Anand Srinivasan, regional head – branch banking, AU Small Finance Bank, Alok Kumar, general manager – Zonal Head, Union Bank of India, Chennai, M. Pazhani, administrative officer, LIC, Vivek Goyal, chief general manager (IB), TNSO, Indian Oil Corporation Limited and L.V. Navaneeth, Chief Executive Officer, The Hindu Group. The sari walk was flagged off in the presence of actor and politician Khushbu Sundar, and Lijo Joy, Regional Manager, Chennai, Joyalukkas.
