A source claimed: “They’ve been navigating the end of their marriage carefully and haven’t rushed into anything. Vernon has now bought a place close to the family home in Buckinghamshire. It means he can stay close to their girls, which is something important to both him and Tess. However, the insider added that work is not yet complete on the TV star's new property and he will only move out of his current home once everything is all done.Speaking to The Sun, the insider added: “He’s having renovations done and will move out when the house is ready. Tess is supporting him with the move. It’s going to be very strange for them after living together for over two decades, so they’re both treating the situation with care and respect.”Since announcing their decision to split, Tess and Vernon have been spotted out and about together, and appeared to be on good terms with each other when they took selfies with fans at the Pub in the Park Festival just weeks after the news broke.Shortly before that, the couple posted a joint statement to Instagram, which read: "After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably. This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us.“We remain great friends and more importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority. There are no other parties involved in this decision. We kindly ask for privacy during this time as we navigate this transition together. We will not be making any further public comments. Tess and Vernon.”Tess and Vernon met in 2001 when they were working together on Top of the Pops@Play, a short-lived spin-off of the staple music programme. In 2024, Vernon described their meeting when he was hosting his BBC Radio 2 show.He explained: "It was Strictly Come Dancing's Tess Daly and I, [we] recreated the video for Britney Spears ' Hit Me Baby One More Time. That's how we first met. She was dressed as Geri Halliwell in the Spice Girls Union Jack dress; I was dressed as Britney Spears in the Hit Me Baby One More Time video. It was in a charity shop on Shepherd's Bush Green."Over the years, the couple had always maintained a united front even when their relationship was rocked in 2010 after he was caught in a sexting scandal. The TV personality was exposed for sending flirty messages to former glamour model Rhian Sugden. At the time, in an interview following the scandal Rhian emotionally claimed that "he had got away with it", as Tess took him back. Speaking on his Radio 1 show soon after the scandal broke, he told his listeners at the time that he had been "stupid and foolish". He added: "Tess is extremely upset about this and we’re working through it."The Mirror has contacted representatives of Tess and Vernon for commentArticle continues belowLike this story?
