MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has designated Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay as vice chair for operations of the Asean National Organizing Council (NOC) to strengthen preparations for the Philippines’ hosting of the 49th Asean Summit Meetings in November.

Marcos set Mathay’s new role in Administrative Order No. 48, issued on Aug. 13, but the Official Gazette website only uploaded it on Aug. 19.

As vice chair for operations, Mathay shall assist the chair, currently Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, in providing strategic direction and operational oversight of preparations for the Philippine hosting of the Asean Summit Meetings.
