LIGAO CITY — A 15-year-old girl who had been missing since Aug. 17 was found dead in a vacant lot in Goa, Camarines Sur, on Friday, Aug. 21, with initial forensic findings indicating that she may have been strangled, police said.
Police Col. Tyrone Dotimas, director of the Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office, said in a Viber message to the Inquirer on Sunday, Aug. 23, that the body of Ruby Porteria, a resident of Barangay Catagbacan, Goa, was found at about 10:15 a.m. in a vacant lot at Belleza Farm in Zone 3, Barangay Matacla, Goa.
According to Dotimas, three children who were picking mulberry fruits came across Porteria’s body, which was already in an advanced state of decomposition when it was discovered.
Porteria was wearing a gray jacket and blue jogging pants when police found her.
