Luke Jacobson leads celebrations after scoring one of the tries that left the Springboks stunned in the Rugby's Greatest Rivalry series opener at Ellis Park on Saturday night.
All Blacks coach Dave Rennie was quick to play down the significance of the 33-16 score-line after his side stunned the Springboks at Ellis Park, insisting the margin flattered New Zealand.
“There was nothing in that game,” Rennie magnanimously said.
“I know the score might sound convincing, but it was an absolute arm wrestle at 19-16.
“We were under the pump and the boys manned up. We defended and defended, and then we were clinical when we got our opportunities.”
