Bills general manager Brandon Beane offered public condolences on behalf of the team, describing the loss as an “unthinkable tragedy” for any parent. Oliver did not travel with the team for their preseason game against the Cleveland Browns, with his family asking the public for privacy and prayers. The Harris County Sheriff's Office said that the toddler was found unresponsive in the pool and pronounced dead at a hospital, with an investigation still open. Oliver was selected as a first-round draft pick by the Bills in 2019 and signed a four-year contract extension worth up to $68 million in 2023.
