Kyiv faces 'extremely difficult task' of unlocking EU funds as Russia steps up attacks

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is putting pressure on his national parliament to pass reform legislation that will unlock €30 billion in European funds

The Ukrainian President warned on Sunday that the cash is “needed for the defense of the entire country” as Russia steps up missile attacks.

“We are supposed to receive €30 billion in European funds, which we are awaiting. They are tied to the adoption of the relevant legislation,” he wrote on X.

“And here it is very important that parliament work – the entire parliament, including the opposition.”
