Andhra Pradesh government is on a high alert as the northern part of the state is likely to receive rainfall under the influence of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal.Home and Disaster Management Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has directed district administrations to remain alert and take all necessary precautionary measures.The minister said strong winds of 40–50 kmph are likely to blow along the coastal areas and urged people to exercise caution.As the sea is expected to remain rough, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea and to strictly follow weather warnings issued by the Meteorological Department.Anitha instructed officials to maintain special vigilance in coastal and low-lying areas.
