WARRI — The young woman at the centre of the controversy surrounding her encounter with businessman Tony Elumelu at a United Bank for Africa (UBA) gathering has received a ₦500,000 support offer, a complimentary VIP trip and an ambassadorial role from the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success.
The young woman recently attracted widespread attention on social media following her interaction with Elumelu at the UBA gathering, which generated intense public reactions and criticism.
However, Ossai, in a statement offering his support, said the woman should not be subjected to prolonged condemnation, stressing that the experience should instead become an opportunity for encouragement and positive change.
“I know the internet can be harsh. Depression is real and words cut deep. She made a mistake, but we don’t need to torment her daily; she needs our support,” Ossai said.
