A 31-year-old MSc Physics student at IIT Delhi died on Saturday after allegedly jumping from the sixth floor of a building on the institute's campus, Delhi Police said. The student entered the campus around 8 am, went to the Lecture Hall Complex and took a lift to the sixth floor before the incident.Police received a PCR call at around 8:33 am at Kishangarh police station and rushed to the campus. He then went to the Lecture Hall Complex and took a lift to the sixth floor.Investigators said he allegedly jumped from the front side of the building towards the Lecture Hall Complex. The Crime Team and Forensic Science Laboratory team also visited the spot and collected evidence.Police said they have not found any apparent injury marks apart from those caused by the fall.Police find no suicide noteDelhi Police said they have not found a suicide note so far."No suicide note has been found. A mobile phone was recovered from the pocket of the deceased and will be examined as per due procedure," police said.Investigators recovered the student's phone and will examine it as part of the probe. Police are also collecting other information from IIT Delhi to establish what happened before the incident.Police check counselling recordsPolice said they are obtaining counselling records and other relevant information from the institute.Investigators will examine those records along with the mobile phone and evidence collected at the spot.
