Promotional poster for the 2026 Seoul International Travel Mart for Medical Tourism (Seoul Metropolitan Government) The Seoul Metropolitan Government will host a business event in September to connect local hospitals, clinics and medical tourism companies with overseas agencies seeking to send patients to Korea.The event comes after Seoul attracted a record 1.76 million foreign patients in 2025, accounting for 87.2 percent of all foreign nationals who visited Korea to receive medical services that year, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.The eighth edition of Seoul International Travel Mart for Medical Tourism will take place Sept. 8 and 9 at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel, bringing some 70 overseas buyers to the city for one-on-one meetings to connect with 300 domestic sellers based in Korea.Domestic companies can register on the event’s official website through Sept. 3. The main program consists of one-on-one business meetings, promotional booths, presentations and a networking event.Last year's conference brought together 358 organizations from Korea and 17 other countries. It generated 2,176 business consultations and discussions on potential contracts worth approximately 57.4 billion won ($41 million).This year's event coincides with the inaugural World Chuna Festival, scheduled for Sept. 7 at the same venue. Chuna is a form of manual therapy practiced in traditional Korean medicine in which practitioners use their hands or other techniques to adjust a patient’s joints, muscles and spine.
