With a potential investment pipeline estimated at up to $500 million, more than 40 Egyptian investors, manufacturers, agricultural operators, mining businesses, and industrialists have expressed interest in projects around Ekiti, one of Nigeria’s 36 states, located in the country’s south-west region.

The Ekiti-Egypt Industrial Investment Mission, which took place in Cairo from July 24 to 28, 2026, produced the chances.

As part of the plan of the state’s current governor, Biodun Oyebanji, to draw in international investment, generate jobs, and increase domestic processing of the state's mineral and agricultural resources, the project was organized by Welcome2Africa International and funded by the Ekiti State Government.

“We are moving beyond general investment promotion into conversations about hectares factories, processing plants, joint ventures, mining assets, offtake and market access,” founder of Welcome2Africa, Bamidele Seun Owoola, stated.
