Then they almost got another two innings later.Outfielder JJ Bleday became just the eighth Red to hit for the cycle and the second in three years when he hit for his first cycle Saturday night in an 11-5 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field in Phoenix.Bleday blasted his career-high 21st home run of the season in the sixth inning to complete his cycle — the franchise’s first since June 23, 2023, when Elly De La Cruz hit for the cycle in just the 15th game of his career. De La Cruz had a chance to join him in the top of the eighth, needing a triple to complete his own cycle, but struck out looking.

— MLB (@MLB) August 23, 2026Bleday doubled in De La Cruz in the first inning, hit an RBI triple in the third, singled in the fourth and then homered to lead off the sixth. He later flew out in the seventh inning and struck out in the ninth to finish the night 4-for-6 after coming into the game with just one hit in his previous 14 at-bats.
