FOXBORO --- The New England Patriots will have to go the rest of their preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles without an offensive starter.Starting right tackle Marcus Bryant went down on the team's first drive of the game and was looked at by members of the Patriots' medical staff.Head coach Mike Vrabel eventually joined him on the field before Bryant was helped off by trainers.Here's What We Know Right Now:He was walking gingerly off the field, and took a while before getting back to the sideline. Rookie offensive tackle Dametrious Crownover came in to replace him. Bryant would head to the blue medical tent.Soon after, the Patriots announced that Bryant would be out for the remainer of the game with an ankle injury. Behind him on the depth chart, Crownover and Lorenz Metz are the top backups. Caleb Lomu started the game at left tackle, and it's unlikely we see Will Campbell or Morgan Moses at all tonight.At that point, the Patriots had just 30 yards of offense, all of them coming from running back Lan Larison. On the opening kickoff, Eagles running back Ja'Quinden Jackson had to leave the field in an ambulance after being motionless on the field for several minutes. Bryant, who was drafted in the seventh round last season and didn't see much time on the field, quickly shot up the ranks to be in that conversation. He's gotten reps on both the left and right side, and when Campbell was out for a practice, Bryant worked with the starting offense protecting Drake Maye's blindside. "Being able to come in and think like a starter," Bryant told reporters in camp about his mindset this year. "Growing up and maturing is part of the game. I feel like I took another step this year."He continued to rep on both sides with the second-string offense, but primarily got his biggest body of work on the left side.
