If everything clicks for the Bruins, how high up can they finish? In fact, I think it would be a long shot to believe that UCLA can finish in the top five. Ohio State, Oregon, Indiana, Michigan, and Penn State are all a tier above the Bruins at this point. Then you have USC, Iowa, and Washington in a tier below them and still more likely to finish higher than UCLA. What Their Schedule Says About Their PotentialLuckily, UCLA doesn’t play too many of the teams we mentioned above. However, I believe the most likely record is 6-6 with a bowl-game win, which would have led to a tied-10th-place finish last season.To me, that seems much more realistic. A 6-6 regular season with a bowl win would be a successful year one for Bob Chesney by most standards. It would certainly be an improvement over the 3-9 team we saw last season, and progress is all Bruins fans can ask for at this moment.
