HYDERABADDeputy Floor Leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in the Assembly T. Harish Rao has questioned the Congress government as to who had given it the right to grab the lands included in the prohibited list under Section 22A of the Registration Act illegally. He made the comments while speaking to the victims of Section 22A from Tirumala Meadows, Laxmi Ganapathi Colony and Hema Nagar of Boduppal who represented their problem to him on Saturday. He alleged that about 1,500 families were living in those areas without any controversy for the last 30 years by construction houses and apartments in survey no. 215 and its parts. However, the Congress government had included the survey numbers in the list of lands under Section 22A overnight. The inclusion of their survey numbers under the prohibited list had come to light when some of the residents visited the registration office to dispose of their property for family needs.Mr. Rao alleged that the government was creating such artificial controversies to enable some ruling party leaders, benami of the government bigwigs, make 30% commission (easy money) for getting the survey numbers removed from the prohibited list, though there was no controversy over the survey numbers for decades. He cautioned the government of taking up a movement on behalf of the Section 22A victims, in case it failed to rectify the mistake, and wanted removal of such survey numbers from the prohibited list.
