Ronnie Wood joined frequent collaborator Imelda May onstage at London's O2 Forum Kentish town ahead of their forthcoming tour13:26, 22 Aug 2026The Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood was cheered on by his devoted wife Sally and their children while performing his first live solo show in 16 years on Friday evening.‌The veteran rocker, 79, and His Band took to the stage with close friend and frequent collaborator Imelda May for a lively performance at London's O2 Forum Kentish Town as they prepare for a forthcoming tour of Europe and Latin America.‌He was supported by Sally and their 10-year-old twins, Gracie Jane and Alice Rose, while playing to a packed out crowd at the north London venue, with his family watching from the sidelines as he worked his way through a hit-heavy set-list that also featured a handful of new songs.‌Theatrical producer Sally, 48 - who married the legendary musician in 2012 after initially meeting at the Theatre Royal - looked typically glamorous in a sequined minidress as she joined her husband for a backstage photo before he took to the stage on Friday evening.Ronnie's London performance will be followed by a second solo show in Germany, with the rocker pencilled in for a live set at Cologne's E-Werk music festival on September 3, during which he will again be accompanied by May, 52. They will also perform two dates at cavernous Amsterdam music venue Paradiso from September 7.‌"I'm looking forward to kickin' ass with my back catalogue and some new songs - look out London," he said in a recent press release.May added: "I'm thrilled to announce some special shows with my dear friend Ronnie Wood and His Band this summer. His vibrant energy and love of great music is infectious."‌Ronnie Wood Live will include dates across Spain, Switzerland, France and Portugal before moving on to Latin America and further shows in Brazil, Argentina and Chile, where it concludes at Santiago's Movistar Arena on November 10.His past collaborations with the celebrated Irish singer include a live tribute for the late Jeff Beck at London's Royal Albert Hall and joint appearances on long-running BBC show Later... With Jools Holland.The tour comes just months after The Rolling Stones called off plans for a 2026 UK and European tour, after key members of the iconic group got cold feet.‌Although no gigs were ever announced or confirmed, it's understood the band, led by Sir Mick Jagger, would head out on the road in 2026 to promote new album Foreign Tongues and had considered a tour across the United Kingdom and Europe having already pulled the plug on dates for 2025.But according to reports, they decided against the new tour, with an American music critic claiming Keith Richards told bandmates Sir Mick and Ronnie that he didn’t want to go back on the road.‌A source told The Sun: “The Rolling Stones had all the big promoters throwing loads of ideas and dates at them for next summer. But when they properly sat down to discuss the tour, Keith said he didn’t think he could commit and wasn’t keen on a big stadium tour for over four months.”A spokesperson for The Rolling Stones added: "The band were looking to tour earlier this year but couldn’t make it work either. It’s hard for their fans, but The Stones will get back onstage when they’re good and ready."The band last played live on the Hackney Diamonds tour in the US in 2024, which sold almost one million tickets.
