The state capital is set to witness a musical evening soaked in songs of rain. Lucknow-based singer Dr Prabha Srivastava, a dental surgeon, will be presenting ghazals and songs during the Monsoon Mehfil to be held at Dilkusha Club on Sunday.Dr Prabha SrivastavaTo be held in a sitting-baithak format, the singer will be performing songs of the season. "I have curated a list of songs like Rimjhim Gire Sawan, Saawan Ka Mahina, some ghazals by Jagjit Singh saheb and Papon during the concert. We have kept the mehfil in a traditional baithak setting which has been the heritage of Awadh and getting lost," says Prabha who was till recently working at Army Hospital as dental officer.The song selection has been done to keep the GenZ in mind. "We have a selected mixed audience, but a lot of youngsters now are coming to my concerts so have kept songs which they can relate to, are popular and according to the theme of the mehfil as well."She will for the first time perform her original song Woh Nahin Mera Magar. "It has been written by Mumbai-based poetess Deepti Mishra, and I have composed and will be presenting during the event as it goes well with the theme. Besides, I am working on my original ghazal album and hopefully will come up with it soon."A student of ghazal singer Talat Aziz, Prabha will be supported by Rinku Raj on keyboard, Ambuj Gupta on percussion, Monty on guitar and Satyam on flute.During the event, an influencer meet on Roots to Reel with Kavish Aziz Lenin, Pratik Bharadwaj, Saubhagya Dixit, Chetna Srivastava and Neha Parveen.
