Moscow: Oman’s Al-Dan Theatre Troupe for Culture and Art has participated in the official competition of the eighth International Festival of Chamber Theatre Forms, presenting its production “A Bite of Bread” in the Russian city of Kineshma. The Omani theatrical performance attracted an audience that included an official representative of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman to the Russian Federation, alongside Russian cultural personalities, representatives of participating countries, artists, theatre specialists and members of the public.The participation provided an opportunity for Omani theatre to present its artistic experience to an international audience and engage with theatre practitioners from different cultural and artistic backgrounds.As part of the programme accompanying the Omani participation, an introductory seminar and press conference were organised to discuss the theatrical experience of “A Living Wage” and developments in Omani theatre.The sessions also examined the importance of international theatre festivals in exchanging artistic experiences and expertise, developing theatrical practices and creating opportunities for communication and cooperation between artists from different countries.The Omani troupe additionally established a small exhibition outside the performance venue, displaying introductory brochures and material highlighting its theatrical activities and artistic experience.The participation of Al-Dan Theatre Troupe forms part of Oman’s broader efforts to strengthen its presence in international cultural and artistic events and to introduce Omani creative productions to audiences abroad.Through its participation in the Russian festival, the troupe highlighted the progress made by Omani theatre in recent years, while providing a platform for cultural dialogue and interaction between Omani and Russian artists and cultural communities.The event also contributed to strengthening friendship, cultural communication and mutual understanding between Oman and the Russian Federation, demonstrating the role of theatre as a bridge connecting different societies and artistic traditions.
