Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav on Friday said the state government has invited tenders for 12 works estimated at Rs 221 crore to construct buildings for Ayush medical services and education and provide additional facilities at government hospitals.The Minister said that of the 12 works, 10 are related to the Ayush department and two to the allopathic medical department.“The state government has invited tenders for 12 works estimated at around ₹221 crore to construct buildings for Ayush medical services and medical education and provide additional facilities at government hospitals,” said Yadav in an official press release.Under the National Ayush Mission (NAM), 50-bed integrated Ayush hospitals will be constructed at six locations - Tekkali in Srikakulam district, Rampachodavaram in Polavaram district, Nandigama in NTR district, Tenali in Guntur district, Giddalur in Markapuram district and Tirupati district.The hospitals will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹10 crore in Tekkali and Tirupati, Rs 10.5 crore in Rampachodavaram, Nandigama, Tenali, Giddalur, he said.A Government Unani Medical College will be established in Proddatur in Kadapa district at a cost of ₹49 crore while a Government Ayurveda Medical College will be constructed in Dharmavaram in Sri Sathya Sai district at an estimated cost of ₹49 crore, said Yadav.At the 50-bed integrated Ayush hospital, ₹3.04 crore has been allocated for additional construction above the existing second floor, including a third floor to house facilities required for the clinical department of the college.Works will also be undertaken to upgrade the 50-bed Community Health Centre in Chinturu into a 100-bed regional hospital at an estimated cost of ₹21.9 crore, the Minister added.Besides, an estimated ₹27.1 crore has been earmarked for construction of a new Outpatient Department building at the Kakinada Government General Hospital.The Andhra Pradesh Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APMSIDC) has undertaken the tender process through e-procurement, said Yadav.Published on August 22, 2026
