External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will visit Russia on August 23-24 to co-chair the 27th session of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation (IRIGC-TEC), the Ministry of External Affairs said on Saturday.Jaishankar is visiting Russia at the invitation of First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.During the two-day visit, Jaishankar will also meet Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and exchange views on regional and global issues, the ministry said.The IRIGC-TEC is the key institutional mechanism between India and Russia for reviewing and advancing bilateral cooperation across trade, economic, scientific, technological and cultural sectors.The visit comes as New Delhi and Moscow continue to strengthen their longstanding bilateral partnership, with economic cooperation and broader regional and global developments expected to feature in the discussions.
