India and Nepal reviewed the full spectrum of their bilateral issues on border management and security; and reiterated their commitment to strengthening cooperation in these areas, a government statement said.The 14th edition of the two-day India-Nepal Joint Working Group (JWG) concluded in Dehradun, Uttarakhand on Friday, the Union home ministry said.The Indian delegation was led by Pausumi Basu, Joint Secretary (Border Management-I) in the Ministry of Home Affairs while the Nepali delegation was led by Ananda Kafle, Joint Secretary of the Nepalese Ministry of Home Affairs.The two sides reviewed the "entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation on border management and security" and "reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in these areas," the statement said.Discussions also covered the maintenance of boundary pillars and effective utilisation of existing border infrastructure.The two sides exchanged views on strengthening institutional coordination and capacity building across various sectors and agreed to sustain engagement in these areas.It was agreed that the next meeting of the Joint Working Group will be held in Nepal at a mutually convenient date, the statement said.Published on August 22, 2026
