Former Sokoto State Governor and Senator representing Sokoto South, Aminu Tambuwal, has sought stronger federal intervention and additional security resources to tackle the worsening security situation in parts of Sokoto State.

Tambuwal, who was accompanied by the member representing Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency and Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Abdussamad Dasuki, made the request during a meeting with the Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (rtd.), on Friday.

The delegation particularly raised concerns over insecurity in Kebbe Local Government Area and Kaya community in Tambuwal Local Government Area.

The meeting, according to Tambuwal, was aimed at seeking stronger federal intervention and additional security resources to protect communities affected by persistent attacks and restore residents’ confidence.

In a statement posted on his X account on Thursday, the former governor said the delegation used the meeting to convey the concerns of residents directly to the Defence Minister.
