Nigeria’s women’s beach volleyball team

Nigeria’s women’s beach volleyball team will face Mozambique in the semi-final of the 2026 African Beach Volleyball Championship in Alexandria, Egypt, on Saturday (today), with a place in the final at stake, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The duo of Esther Mbah and Pamela Bawa booked Nigeria’s place in the last four after defeating Morocco 2-1 (21-17, 15-21, 15-11) in a thrilling quarter-final at Abu Heif Beach on Friday.

Nigeria won the opening set 21-17 before Morocco responded strongly to take the second 21-15 and force a decisive third set.

Mbah and Bawa, however, held their nerve in the decider, winning 15-11 to complete the comeback victory and secure their semi-final berth.
