Rodrigo Riquelme scored the decisive goal in the 63rd minute, producing a composed volley from Cucho Hernández’s cross to the back post to secure all three points for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
The tightly contested encounter offered little between the two teams before Riquelme’s finish gave Betis the breakthrough and ultimately settled the match.
