After losing their makeup game to the Atlanta Braves and getting shut out, the Chicago White Sox will start their series against the New York Mets. They will start Game 1 with significant absences.Game InfoWho: Chicago White Sox (66-61) vs. New York Mets (58-70)Where: Rate FieldWhen: 6:40 CTWatch: CHSNListen: ESPN Chicago WMVP 1000 AM, 107.9 La LeyChicago White Sox Lineup1. Tristan Peters, RFThis is an odd lineup for Will Venable, even after considering the White Sox are facing a lefty in Sean Manaea. Chase Meidroth, Munetaka Murakami, Miguel Vargas, and Randal Grichuk are high in the order, per usual, against a left-hander. However, Grichuk is playing left field in place of Sam Antonacci, who has been steadily getting better against southpaws. Grichuk has two home runs in 19 at-bats against Manaea. Antonacci has been struggling lately, slashing .091/.310/.136 in his last seven games.Instead, Colson Montgomery will be DH'ing against a left-hander. Colson has an .817 OPS against lefties, but it takes Antonacci's bat out of the lineup. Brenton Doyle will be in center field, but what's strange is that Tristan Peters will move from center field to right field. This means that Braden Montgomery isn't in the lineup today. While he does have a much worse OPS against left-handers than right-handers (.554 vs. .749), it takes away an elite arm in right field, replacing it with a weaker arm in Peters. Luisangel Acuña will play shortstop, and Jake Rogers will be behind the dish.New York Mets Lineup1. A.J. Ewing, CF2. Francisco Lindor, SS3. Bo Bichette, DH4. Carson Benge, RF5. Jared Young, 1B6. In his last start, he gave up four runs in 4.1 innings. However, he still has a 2.18 ERA in his last seven games and has been a revelation this season for the White Sox. He'll look to continue that against a Mets lineup that hasn't seen much of him.New York Mets - Sean Manaea, LHPSean Manaea started the year as a long reliever but found his way back into the rotation. Since then, he has been pitching well. In his last 15 games (12 starts), he has pitched to a 3.60 ERA with 81 strikeouts in 80 innings. This White Sox lineup is going to have to put up more of a fight than they showed against Atlanta, or it could be a disastrous day for Chicago.Add us as a preferred source on GoogleFollow
