Like her siblings Shiloh, Maddox and Zahara, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's daughter Vivienne has taken out a newspaper notice announcing that she is removing 'Pitt' from her name21:04, 21 Aug 2026Brad Pitt's daughter Vivienne has followed in her elder siblings footsteps and dropped her father's surname. The 18-year-old took out a newspaper notice announcing that she no longer wanted 'Pitt' in her name.Vivienne, whose mother is Angelina Jolie, filed to change her name to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie. Sharing an ad in the newspaper is a a standard step in the process of changing her name that has to be taken before a court will approve it.The ad has been posted in the The Los Angeles Journal once a week for four weeks from July to August. If anyone opposes the name change has to write to the court before 2 November, when a final hearing will be held. As long as there are no objections, the judge will approve the name change. In the filings, obtained by the Mail, Vivienne submitted her reasons for the name change as 'personal'. Vivienne has gone by Vivienne Jolie before, appearing under that name in the official playbill for her Broadway production of the Outsiders in 2024. Likewise, her twin brother went by Knox Jolie on his diploma from Fusion Academy. Her siblings, Zahara, 21, and Maddox, 25, both made similar filings earlier this year and their notices in the Los Angeles Journal appeared at the same time. This came after Zahara was already referred to as Zahara Marley Jolie at her university commencement at Spelmen College in May.Shiloh, 20, also petitioned to change her name. She did so in 2024, when she turned 18. At the time, Shiloh's lawyer Peter Levine said in a statement to People that she "made an independent and significant decision following painful events".The only child who still appears to be using the name Pitt is Pax, 22, but his relationship with his father does not appear to be much better, as he previously called Brad a "world-class a**hole".Brad and Angelina first started dating in 2004, after they met on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith, going public with their relationship shortly after his separation from ex-wife Jennifer Aniston. They got married 10 years later, but separated in 2016. What followed was a lengthy and fraught divorce amid abuse allegations. Pitt has denied being abusive towards his family and the Los Angeles Department of Family Services cleared him of any wrongdoing. A source told People that Angelina is hoping for "everyone to heal" now that the divorce has been finalised.Article continues belowThey said: "If people knew the whole truth, they would have more sympathy for the children and respect them. The fact they aren’t speaking ill or sharing things publicly only shows their decency."The Mirror went to Pitt's representatives for comment.Like this story?
