The Celebrity MasterChef competition was whittled down even further on Friday night21:15, 21 Aug 2026Another famous face has bid farewell to the Celebrity MasterChef kitchen.‌The temperature this summer has been intensified by the return of the hit BBC cooking competition.‌Judging duties lie with a brand-new duo - food critic Grace Dent is back to critique alongside new judge, Italian Michelin-starred maestro, Giorgio Locatelli.‌Across five weeks, they'll be putting their taste buds through a sensory assault course, as they discover which celebrities have the palate and skill to chop, slice and sizzle their way to lifting the iconic Celebrity MasterChef trophy.The competition continued on Friday (August 21), as Emily Campbell, Jason Mohammad, Joe Pasquale and Shakira Khan battled it out for a place in the semi-final.‌They first had to complete a new challenge titled Service Is Up. For the first time in the competition, the celebrities had to work in teams to provide a three-course extravaganza in just 90 minutes.Grace and Giorgio took their spot at the table as the teams - Joe and Shakira, and Jason and Emily - worked their hardest to provide restaurant-quality delights.On the menu was a mackerel scotch egg, roast chicken with fondant potatoes, leeks and a chicken jus, with a classic sticky toffee pudding to round things off.‌After that, the contestants were set a challenge by chef, author and content creator Seema Pankhania. They were each tasked with recreating one of Seema's technically challenging recipes.At the end of the episode, Grace and Giorgio revealed that Jason was the next star to be eliminated from the competition.‌"The person leaving us today is Jason. I'm sorry. Your time on MasterChef has come to an end," Grace announced.Jason then said: "Thank you so much. It's been incredible. Thank you for having me... It's been the best thing I've ever done," just moments before Giorgio made him an exciting offer.The chef said: "Jason, you are a very instinctive cook. It won't be enough for this competition. I'm really sorry... I invite you back to come to my kitchen, if you want, one day." Jason replied: "As long as you don't have a go at me, that'd be great!"Article continues belowAfter exiting the kitchen, the eliminated star reflected on his time in the competition, saying: "It's been an absolute privilege to have been in that same studio with Grace and Giorgio especially. He's invited me into his kitchen."Jason then joked: "[If it's] free, I'm there.
