Aug. 21 (UPI) -- HBO is developing The People v. Gorilla Grodd, a new series set in the world of the DC Comics character Superman.
The network announced Friday that it has ordered the eight-episode, half-hour comedy from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television.
Superman actor Skyler Gisondo will reprise his role as Jimmy Olsen, a photographer at the Daily Planet who is a friend and colleague of Clark Kent, aka Superman, and Lois Lane, played by David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan in the 2025 film directed by James Gunn.
The series also stars Jimmy Tatro as Gorilla Grodd, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant and Wendell Pierce as Perry White.
