The Tennessee Titans held their second joint practice of the preseason today against the Seattle Seahawks. Last week's meeting with the San Francisco 49ers resulted in punches thrown and, overall, an underwhelming outing from the Titans. With a game under their belts and the benefit to host this time, Tennessee had all the makings of a recovery entering Friday's two-team meeting.Recover, they certainly did. Here are three major takeaways from the Titans' practice as the team now prepares to face Seattle on Sunday night.Cam Ward, Titans Offense (Mostly) Show OutWe knew it was going to be a good day when Cam Ward reportedly hit Elic Ayomanor for a score on a cross-body on the opposite side of the field. Tennessee's scoring unit needed a big outing in the worst way, and save for one would-be pick-six from Ward, they got it.In addition to Ward finding Ayomanor (as well as a notable TD to Daniel Bellinger in a two-minute drill), Mitch Trubisky found Chimere Dike for a toe-tapping touchdown on a rollout, as well as Xavier Restrepo on a 40-yard long ball. Will Levis even got involved, also hitting Restrepo for a 15-yard gain in a highlight play for two guys teetering on the roster's edge.Tennessee also excelled on the ground. New signee D'Ernest Johnson worked his way into the end zone for a five-yard score, while Tony Pollard and Julius Chestnut also carved avenues to score.Even veteran back Michael Carter got in, fielding extensive work with both Trubisky and Levis' units. There were a few turnovers to clean up, as well as a weaker second 11-on-11 period when starters re-took the field, but this was a net positive day for Tennessee's offense.Alontae Taylor Leads a Response From Titans SecondaryTennessee's secondary has endured their fair share of loud criticism this past week after an unproductive few days with the San Francisco 49ers. In today's event with the Seahawks, Alontae Taylor helped lead an encouraging response. In addition to nabbing a pick-six from Sam Darnold late in practice, the Titans' $58 million man reportedly managed to break up a few passes in what was almost certainly his best showing of the preseason so far. At one point, the Titans had allowed just one touchdown in 12 snaps in the red zone.Cor'Dale Flott continued to struggle, with Darnold at one point throwing a touchdown over his head to running back George Holani. But even if worries about Flott's own hefty contract continue, the unit as a whole came out strong against Seattle and posted a few much-needed signs before Sunday.August 13, 2026; Santa Clara, California, USA; San Francisco 49ers wide receiver De'zhaun Stribling (15) is tackled by Tennessee Titans cornerback Alontae Taylor (24) during the first quarter at Levi's Stadium. While he would end up with a relatively quiet day - save for a jumping catch on the sideline - Tennessee's rookie receiver returning after a missed practice earlier this week elicits a massive sigh of relief.Tate is someone that fans specifically are looking forward to seeing on Sunday, after he failed to catch a single pass in the Titans' preseason opener. His quick comeback confirms prior reports that he had been held out for stiffness only. This means we may see Tate's first reception in a live game on Sunday. Robert Saleh's prized fourth-overall pick should be ready to ramp things up with a Titans team that just had exactly the sort of practice we needed to see.Add us as a preferred source on GoogleFollow
