The Ukrainian president called for increased international pressure on Russia, arguing that accountability for attacks on civilians would be necessary for any lasting peace.
Russian drone strikes on a shopping centre in Kryvyi Rih of Ukraine have killed at least five people and injured 52 others, including six children.
Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who made this known on Friday, said the attack was carried out in two waves, with the second strike targeting emergency responders who had arrived at the scene following the initial attack.
“The Russians have dealt an absolutely cynical and vile blow to an ordinary shopping center in Kryvyi Rih,” Zelenskyy said on X while condemning the attack.
