MOSCOW, August 21. /TASS/. Cuba has withstood pressure from the United States for decades and will be able to cope with it today, Fidel Antonio Castro Smirnov, Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro’s grandson and professor at the Havana University, told TASS.
"It becomes increasingly difficult to isolate a state when it has reliable partners, alternative markets, financial mechanisms, research ties, and own technological capabilities. For decades, Cuba has been maintaining international ties, developing cooperation with partners, despite the external pressure and will be able to withstand the US pressure today too," he said, announcing the 2nd World Public Assembly in Moscow on September 18 and 19 that will be titled "A New World: Values That Unite."
According to Castro Smirnov, Cuba’s experience has demonstrated the importance of "international solidarity, diversification of ties, and the ability of countries to support each other for successful sovereign development."
"This is why the World Public Assembly is so important today. It is a venue where representatives from different countries and cultures can directly discuss new principles of international cooperation and work together to outline new vectors for global development for decades to come," he stressed.
