The Tirupati police recovered 18 motorcycles and an autorickshaw, collectively worth ₹20 lakh, on Friday.All six members of an inter-district gang were arrested by the Chandragiri police, who also recovered the vehicles stolen from various places in Tirupati, Chittoor and Nellore districts.The accused were identified as Pathan Afroze (21) of Nellore, A. Lochan Nivas of Chittoor, Krishnappachari Sai Krishna (18) and Neerukonda Jitendra Banerjee (20), both of Chandragiri, M. Vamsikrishna (19) of Chittoor, and P. Satish Babu (28) of Padarupalli in Nellore.They were arrested on the Naravaripalle-Bhimavaram road, following which the police recovered the stolen vehicles hidden in a nearby forest area.“The accused were found to be involved in seven cases in Chandragiri, three in SVU Campus police station limits, two each in Srikalahasti I Town, Nellore Rural and Tirupati Rural, and one each in Tiruchanur, Vedayapalem and Manubolu police station limits,” Superintendent of Police (Tirupati) L. Subbarayudu said at a media conference here on Friday.He appreciated Chandragiri Sub-Divisional Police Officer B. Prasad, Circle Inspector M. Suresh Kumar and their team for busting the gang.
