Kyiv appeals to European allies for missiles as Russia steps up attacks
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine’s president has appealed – once again –to his allies to sell Ukraine much needed anti-ballistic missiles as his war-torn runs short of Patriot interceptors.
“We need missiles for Patriots, and only our partners can provide them,” he said in Thursday’s evening national address.
He explained that Ukraine’s partners know what the country needs and “that we know our partners are capable of meeting this need”.
Two days ago, Ukraine was hit by dozens of ballistic, cruise and hypersonic missiles, and while 90% of the cruise missiles where downed, Kyiv’s lack of US-made Patriot interceptors is leaving the country vulnerable to ballistic missiles.
