The warehouse club operator posted adjusted EPS of $1.36 in its second quarter, topping analyst expectations of $1.17 a share

BJ's Wholesale Club reported second-quarter earnings of $1.36 per diluted share on Friday, beating analyst expectations and prompting the company to raise its full-year profit guidance.

Net income for the quarter ended Aug. 1 rose to $173.9 million from $150.7 million a year earlier, the company said. Total revenue climbed 15.7% to $6.23 billion.
