Major Dhyan Chand's contribution to Indian hockey

Major Dhyan Chand, a Rajput from Allahabad, followed his father's footsteps into the Army. It was here that he discovered his passion for hockey.

Over a 22-year career, he scored over 400 goals and led the Indian hockey team to Olympic gold medals in 1928, 1932, and 1936.

He continued to contribute even after retirement by coaching at various camps in Rajasthan and serving as head coach at Patiala's National Institute of Sports.
