Talks between the two sides remain on hold as Iran and Washington stay locked in a stalemate. Iran is keeping the Strait of Hormuz partially shut while the United States maintains a naval counter-blockade. China also criticized Washington’s plan to intensify economic pressure on Iran.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Friday it was time to end the months-long Middle East war with the United States because Tehran was in a position of strength over Washington.
Talks between the decades-old foes remain on hold, with both sides in the war started by the U.S. and Israel in February locked in a stalemate.
Tehran is keeping the key Strait of Hormuz partially shut and Washington is persisting with a naval counter-blockade of Iran.
