Amazon Web Services (AWS) has expanded its footprint with a new availability zone in Europe and an AWS Local Zone in the US.

Both launched this week; the availability zone (AZ) is part of the eu-west-2 region, based in London, UK.

The AZ offers AI and machine learning capacity, including Amazon EC2, Trn3, and P6 accelerated instances, alongside general-purpose compute.

While named "London," most of the data centers are actually near Bristol in the UK.
