Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission has inaugurated an interim board to oversee the operations of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company following the dissolution of its previous Board of Directors.
In a post obtained from NERC’s X handle on Friday, the new board was inaugurated on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, pursuant to an intervention order issued by NERC over the distribution company’s repeated failure to meet market obligations and prescribed performance targets.
NERC, through Order No. NERC/2026/08, dissolved the former Board of Directors of KAEDC and constituted a five-member Interim Board of Special Directors.
The interim board is chaired by Dr. Abdullahi Garba and will serve an initial term of one year.
